Overview
For Singapore Slurp, I moved the site from a client-rendered React single-page app to server-rendered Next.js, with Strapi as the content management system, and added n8n workflows that take care of publishing.
Why migrate
A single-page app sends an almost empty page and builds everything in the browser. Search engines and link previews see little of the content, and the first load is slow on phones. Rendering on the server sends finished pages, so content is indexable, shareable and fast from the first request.
What changed
- React SPA to Next.js. Pages render on the server instead of in the browser.
- Strapi as the CMS. Content lives in Strapi, and the site pulls it from Strapi’s API.
- n8n for publishing. Workflows automate the steps around a new piece of content, so publishing no longer depends on someone doing each step by hand.
